Pastor Jonathan Fitzner was born in Wolhynia, which is today Ukraine.1939-40 with the agreement between Russia and Germany, all the Germans had to leave Wolhynia. He and his family were taken to Germany, and from there were taken to “Warthegau”. January 1945, the Germans were fleeing by Horses and Wagon towards the West, because of advancing Russian army. Unfortunately his family did not make it, and had to turn back. The entire family was then detained by the Polish-communist Government for almost 3 Years. Finally they forced us to leave Poland; we arrived in 1947 to West Germany and lived for a while in the region known as Odenwald in Germany. After four years of Bible College in 1961, he served as Pastor for 11 years in Germany. In 1972 he was called to serve at a German Church of God in USA to continue the pastoral ministry.
